Chapter 01

What we set#

In plain languageFour pieces of state, all strictly necessary or first-party preference: Clerk's session and client IDs (auth), Cloudflare's bot-protection cookie, and our own theme preference in localStorage.

We use a small number of cookies and equivalent technologies that are strictly necessary to operate djeed.com and DjeedX. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or behavioural-profiling cookies.

In plain languageUnder the ePrivacy Directive, only non-essential cookies need a consent banner. The cookies above are essential for sign-in, security, or your stated preference — none of them are non-essential. If we ever add analytics, we'll show a banner before turning them on.

Under the ePrivacy Directive (Article 5(3)) and GDPR, prior consent is required for cookies that are not strictly necessary for the service the user has requested. The cookies above are either:

Strictly necessary for authentication and security (Clerk session, Cloudflare bot protection), or
A first-party preference value stored in localStorage at user request (theme).
